Does Gleevec cause ALP to go up?

My numbers were already up to 201 before I started Gleevec but have slowly risen up to 260 now.

ALP/AST started high but are 20/15 i.e. in the normal range now.

Thanks!

Actually I looked at the results again, it was normal and started climbing only after I started Gleevec. It was 127 before that.

ALP can be elevated while taking Gleevec.  The cause is probably not related to the liver, but rather to accelerated bone remodeling (bone cell turnover) which occurs while taking Gleevec.  This is a side effect of Gleevec and does not result in poor bone health, but is one reason we need to ensure we have proper mineral intake.  This should resolve by itself over time but keep monitoring it.

(I assume when you said "ALP/AST started high..." you actually meant ALT/AST)

Thanks Trey! Reading your reply made my weekend much more cheerful :)

Yes, I meant ALT/AST. Doctor said that they are going to continue monitoring it.
