Hi: Your getting ahead of yourself with everything. You need to calm down, and let your boyfriend get started on his treatment. CML is not a death sentence as Leukemia was years ago. He should do well on the Gleevec if he is in Chronic Stage. I have been living with CML since 1998, and I am still on Gleevec since 2000. He will have a lot of different things going on in his body when he starts the Gleevec, but it gets better as time goes on in most cases. Naturally, he is not feeling good with the other health issues he has.
He can live a normal life well on the Gleevec. He needs your support and support from all his loved ones to help him cope with it all. Just take one day at a time, and let everything fall into place.
