Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

I have a question about a lump in my armpit that has been there for at least a month. I think it is a swollen lymph node. Its rubbery, no pain or redness and seems to stay about the same size. It is towards the outside of my arm, furthest away from the breast when my arm is raised above my head. I am 26 months into my cml journey and was MMR at .0061% in May. Tasigna is really doing its job! My side effects are bone pain, headaches, some eczema on my eyelid, stomach pain and vertigo that seem to take turns cropping up. nice of them to take turns!

A few years ago I would never have worried about one armpit lump but since cml, I now  tend to immediately assume the worst about every ache and pain! I really hate to go to the doctor for nothing and look like a hypochondriac!

What code my lump be? Should I be concerned? Could it just be another side effect?

Thanks for being here!

Always a good idea to ask the doc to check out swollen lymph nodes.

We must have similar biology as we seem to share similar side effects like vertigo and I also have been having some issue with lymph node.  Mine is in my neck and it rattles my nerves.  My PCP and my onc both checked it and both said it is fine.  Lymph nodes can flare up when fighting an infection so it is most likely nothing.  Sometimes when they enlarge they do not return to normal size and it is a benign issue.  Still, as Trey pointed out, this is not something you should ignore.  Let your doctor know and have them examine you.  It is most likely nothing to be concerned about.

Trey is right. I worried for several days about a swollen lymph node and finally got up the nerve to tell my doctor about it. Found out it wasn't swollen and it wasn't even a lymph node! I felt like an A-1, but very relieved, idiot!

Hi Iforget, thats a good one.  I had a lump appear under my arm. It was an infected sweat gland, I took antibiotic for 2 weeks and it was gone. Doc said stay away from anti-persparent because it clogs the pores.    Good Luck Billie

Thank you everyone for your replies. I will ask my onc at my appointment in August about the lump or whatever it is or isn't.

Do you think that some day I will be able to not research every little thing as a symptom of some type of cancer?  I think that this tendancy is the worst side effect of cml treatment!! I want my blissful ignorance back!!!

Thank you for being here and for listening!

No, kidding...six years ago when I was diagnosed, I was too sick to worry about anything.  I stayed in bed or went to the doctor and did as she said.  It went on for months......I wouldn't wish that on others, but it may have been easier that way because I didn't worry or research anything.....just followed her lead........not knowing  is easier sometimes!!!!!! Hope you all are having a good day......I just made coffee and was shocked to see the date on my wonderful half and half....AUGUST 2......it is almost August!!!!!  We start school the 18th......I sure miss it during the summer......but I am aware how much easier it is to not work!!!!!!  I am very grateful that I get to work!  Bye! Lala
