This is most likely anecdotal, but it seems to me here I see more people taking Sprycel achieving PCRU than Tasigna.  I'm curious about this.  I don't know if people have been taking Sprycel longer for Tasigna, or if less people are taking Tasigna than Sprycel, or if less people with PCRU on Tasigna are here on the boards, etc.  Any insight?

I'm currently taking Tasigna and I'm doing very well (my three month check-up is next week) but I was just curious.

It likely has more to do with the order of FDA approval for these drugs: Gleevec, then Sprycel, then Tasigna.  Oncs tend to prescibe drugs in the order they were approved, at least in the short term.  That is probably starting to even out.  Tasigna should work well.

A comparison of Gleevec, Tasigna, and Sprycel response rates for Major Molecular Response (3 log reduction) at 12 months after start of drug therapy are:

Gleevec  22 - 40%

Tasigna   44%

Sprycel:  46 - 51%

These numbers are provided as ranges because they change depending on which study is used.

Hmm, interesting.  Thanks for digging that up!
