Hello All,

I know this is kind of a taboo subject, but is it possible to smoke marijuana while on Tasigna? I am a casual smoker, but have not smoked since dx. Have there been any studies done on the side effects? Thanks for your time. -Josh

I don't know anything about smoking pot,but these are very powerful drugs we take. They are working very hard on new drugs a cure could come along soon. I really doubt that they have done any studies about interacting tki,s and pot yet. I would be terrified to try it who knows what will happen? There,s a lot of things that could go terribly wrong.

Don't know of any studies.  If you are looking for nausea you may be able to get a prescription depending on state you live in.

You can look at this thread and search the forum for some others

And by the way, the topic is less taboo then you think with some people, especially cancer patients.

You may want to have the discussion with your doctor to get their input.

Thanks, Lucky,

I'd just started the search for all the previous links on our discussion board, I'm so bad at that, I always get lost. You saved me!

Pat

I think one of the major concerns is the effect smoking marijuana may have on our lungs. There are many other ways to use it with great response, I'm told. I'll see if I can find more information on that. Good luck!

I must apologize for my response,  JOSH

Lucky is 100% right. I have heard it's good for nausea in cancer patients, people with glaucoma, there are probably a lot of people out there who get legal pot.I can't spell the M word.

Having raise 2 kids grown and gone now I always worried about them getting involved with drugs. Thank God they did,nt. They never knew when mom was gonna show up.!

But the mother in me just comes right out.  So I answered to hastily. I always say I would never try drugs because anything that would totally relax me I would definitly become addicted. I won't even take pain pills.          So Please accept my apology.       Billie

Hmmm...

I don't know of any studies of marijuana and Tasigna.  However, Tasigna has a fairly clear therapeutic warning to take it one hour before eating or two hours afterward.

As I recall from my long ago experiences with pot, one of the primary side-effects of marijuana was a greatly increased appetite - although we just called it "having the munchies" in those days. Taking Tasigna along with an entire bag (or two) of tortilla chips is probably not a good idea.
