Hi,

I became a non-compliant patient and did not take my G for four entire days while my daughter was visiting.  I have not been back to my ONC yet to see if this affected my status of PCRU.  What I did notice that once I started the G again-- I felt like someone had beaten me with a 2X4!  Even the bottom of my feet hurt when I walked!  This lasted for about a week.

After 10 days back on G-- I am again with minimal side effects-- other than my usually water retention!  Has anyone every done this-- I just think it surprising the side effects after such a short break!!

That was a bad move.  I have never missed a dose in 10years, even when I have been hospitalized I  made sure they gave me my Gleevec.  I would imagine after not taking it for 4 days that you would feel your side effects worse once you restarted it again.  Your body  might have been reacting like you just started it for the first time..  You probably skipped it because you were busy with other things, and wanted to feel good.  If you are PCRU, I am sure it did not mess you up that way.  Some people have had to take vacations from Gleevec at different times.
