I know that everyone has, at one time or another, experienced the bone pain/soreness from the TKI drugs. Back when I started Gleevec I had a bad couple of months before the bone pain was not so bad. I live in PA and the last week or so it has been raininy, damp, and chilly (typical autumn weather) and I have been having horrible bone pain in my legs and arms again. Does anyone else find that the side effects you experience are affected by the weather patterns? Am I going to be like the arthritis sufferers and hate cold, damp weather because I will be in constant pain?

Hi HeatherZ, I live in western Canada and the weather where I live can literally change by the hour. I do find that rainy, damp or snowy days I am more achy. Last winter, I found that I would get chilled easily. So I am not looking forward to this winter. I'll have to join my parents in Arizona!

Thanks Knoppl - I was just diagnosed in March of this year so this is my first time going through the season changes since being on Gleevec. This summer was hard because I found I did not tolerate the heat and humidity as much as I used to. I was actually thinking that if the pain got too bad with the cold, maybe insurance would pay for a hot tub for me as a medical device. (jk) I haven't gotten chilled any easier yet but when the bone pain is bad my legs are so hot to the touch and they feel like they are on fire.

Hi Heather
I also live in PA and I am happy you brought this up because this weather is really effecting me too. I was also dx in March. Today I am finding it difficult to get off the couch. I know the rainy weather makes most feel like that, but this is much worse than that. I find I am bothered alot by the cold. I chase my 5 year old around with a jacket or a sweater and flannel pj's and she keeps telling me it makes her hot. LOL! I am in fleece pants, sweatshirt and socks. I could still use a blanket. Where are you in PA? I live in the Lehigh Valley.

Hi Heather, I live in Pa too, and it sure has been wet! Spent some time trying to dry out our basement this week. I had leg bone pain for the first month or so on gleevec ,may of this year.I haven't had any more since then, even with the damp weather. I hope yours gets better. When did you start gleevec?

I starter Gleevec in the beginning of April of this year. I was glad I didn't have to spend any time drying out my basement. Mine usually has water issues but I lucked out this time.
