I have started to read this board more regularly and am so grateful that this board is available to us. I have friends and a CML penpal but there are times when I read posts and can really relate to what others are feeling and thinking and it helps me normalize the similar emotions that I go through. I just wanted to say that this board has been such a support. It has got me through an incredibly frightening diagnosis, to realizing that the odds are I will get to see my children grow up and I truly hope to meet my grandchildren someday, it has got me through some of those  rougher days with side effects and to realize that  it is ok to grieve for my healthy life before CML. I could go on and on. I would not have had any of this support without this board.

So glad you feel this way about the support you get on here.  I can still remember when I was diagnosed which will be12 years this Dec., and that should tell you that you will get to see your children and grandchildren grow up.  I went through all the frustration and What If's in the beginning.  Not knowing what to expect, plus I have said this to many others, there was no Gleevec, Sprycel, Tasigna, etc  I just searched for a support group at that time, because I felt like I could talk forever about what I was going through.  Family and Friends were loving and supportive, but truly did not understand the full impact of being told you have Leukemia.

You do make friends and get support at the same time.  I have made CML friends who I now e-mail back and forth just about everyday normal living without even talking about the disease.  I feel I have come a long way.

Knoppl. . .I totally agree.  This board has been a huge part of my support system.  I didn't even know this until recently, but my husband made a donation to LLS simply because he's seen how much the forum has helped me.    The people here are great, and hearing everyone's hopes, fears, and ideas is helpful.  There's a huge knowledge base here. . .and everyone is willing to share for the benefit of all.
