So yesterday I had an interesting side effect. I was packing up the car from the weekend to head home, I wasn't really exerting myself, but I was moving around, carrying things, etc. Just as I put the last item in the car I got this strange sensation in my head. The only way to describe it is that it felt like the right side of my brain fell asleep. Not the outside of my head, literally it felt like it was under the skull. It was a numbness with slight pins and needles like you get when your foot falls asleep (often the way we describe the peripheral neuropathy). It came on very quickly and passed a few moments later. When it hit, I just stopped in my tracks and sat down in the driveway because I didn't know what to expect next. It just passed and that was the end of it. I had my wife drive home just to be on the safe side. Hope I don't get that one again, it wasn't painful, but it felt really strange and not something I would like to experience again.

OMGosh----what is going to happen next?????? I have enjoyed reading your entries----so I want to respond---only know this hasn't happened to me YET! I will check back to see if anyone has had this happen and if they have any good advice for you. I am so glad I finally wrote about my fatigue last week---or the week before----I have really enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts. This group sure knows how it feels to have CML---not sure the docs do!!!!!!!!! All the shared experiences on this site, have made me feel better about my fatigue...so thank you to all!!!

I would guess that you twisted your neck in an odd way and momentarily shut off blood flow to the head by squeezing on the carotid artery.

@Trey - I experienced something similar to what you described once when I made a comment about something my wife was wearing out to dinner .
Seriously, that's a good possible explanation. I don't recall anything unusual about the way I moved, but you never know. I think I put everything under the microscope these days.

Hi Gary: We do tend to put everything under microscopes these days. Could not have put it better. Trey's answer sounded like thats what it was. I have had dizzy spells come on me well I was driving. One real bad one, and had to pull into a parking lot and park till it passed. I get them periodically, but since that one I tend not to drive far by myself. I used to drive by myself up to North Jersey to my mothers, and now I do not feel confident to do that anymore. I stay local unless Gary does the driving. Its hard to tell between side effects or just new developments in our bodies.
