After 18 months of the big G I'm trying to 'move on' and get on with life, so this week I took the plunge and flew over from the UK to New Jersey for a week-long business meeting, hoping I could cope with the jetlag on top of the Glivec fatigue.  It's been a real struggle, but I've proved to myself that I can do it, and tonight I even managed to make it through dinner with the team - largely helped by the fact that you really do eat ridiculously early over here.  I've coped with the work, I've coped with the culture clash (explaining to the locals that if the restaurant is only a mile from the hotel and it's a nice evening then no, you don't need a taxi) and I've done my best to forget about CML completely.  So why have I now logged on here?  Outside the hotel I've just found a sign explaining that the pattern in the paving of the courtyard is a reproduction of the labyrinth from the cathedral of Chartres, which according to the sign is  pronounced "Shart".

See, it's everywhere.

Welcome to New Jersey (pronounced "Nuu Joizee")

May the porcelain be with you.

Welcome to the good ol' USA!  Sorry that you are visiting New Jersey.  Business conferences should definitely be held in Denver.

I agree, and I'm a Jersey Girl (um, yes, in caps), business meetings should be held in Colorado.  I'm not Pika for no reason.  Although, any Pika's living in Denver are prolly squashed by cars.  But Colorado, beautiful thing that you are.

None the less, Phil, enjoy your visit to the Garden state.
