I am in need of finding a great CML specialist. I love my oncologist, but he is not answering my questions and helping me with my concerns. I want to be sure that I am doing all that I can do to have a long and happy life. I am determined to take this illness, accept it and make the best of it. I live in Eastern NC in the Greenville area. Any suggestions for a great Hem/Onc that specializes or is very up to date on CML?

I am very happy with my Hem/Onc in Hendersonville,NC-James Radford MD. He listens and is up-to-date in CML Rx. I also go to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. for rechecks.(Dr. Thomas Habermann). Frank

Hi: I cannot help you with a new Oncologist, as I live in New Jersey. Everyone on here is from a different area, and someone will be able to advise you.
I can only say that your doing the right thing to switch doctors. My Oncologist who treated me for 10 years retired, and they just turned me over to the doctor who took over his practice. We made no connection with each other at all. He would not listen to anything I said. I moved on, and found a new doctor.
I only saw her once, but we were on the same track immediately. Only time will tell if I made the right choice, but it is our body and our life. We have to do what we feel we have to do. Hope you find a great new Oncologist. Let us know how your doing
