I recently developed a slightly elevated BUN-a value of 24, with upper limits of normal 23- ( I had eaten a lot of meat the preceding 2 days and resumed a mild exercise program ). Serum Creatinine was normal at 1.25. Does Gleevec cause such an elevation? Thanks, Frank

Yes.  Your levels are no worry.

Gleevec "was associated with focal mineralization and dilation of the renal  tubules, tubular nephrosis, and increased BUN and creatinine in animal  studies."

Glad to see the Serum Creatinine is back to normal.
