can smoking affect your pcr?  i had quit but recently with everything going on i have picked up a few here and there. could that be why my PCR only went from 33 to 19?

                  thanks, de145

Hi Dee:  I do not believe the smoking has done anything to your readings, but please do yourself a favor and QUIT for good.  Don't risk your health in other ways with cigarettes.  I can say this because I was a smoker many years ago.  I had quit about 3 years before I was diagnosed with my CML.  Now I am trying to get my husband to quit, and I do not let him smoke in front of me or in the house.  He is a survivor of Prostate Cancer, and I keep nagging him to know how blessed he is at this point.

Just my advice.  Hope your doing better Dee.

Dee, being stressed out is the pits and I am sorry for you.  I think you need to find something other than cigarettes to help you get through this stressful time.  Good luck and hang in there!  Marie

Smoking shouldn't affect your PCR, but I'm more than happy to say it does if it helps you to quit.
