I am a 61 year old male in relatively good health aside from the fact that I have CMML (I also have Lupus). I was originally diagnosed with MDS 7 years ago, I participated in 1 clinical trial, and the progression of the disease was very slow (thank you Lord). About 1 year ago the diagnosis was amended to reflect CMML, and my most recent bone marrow showed the blasts had jumped to 10%. I am being treated at the Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, and have been with the same Dr for these 7 years. It was his recommendation that I start treatment with Dacogen 4 cycles of treatment over 4 months. I have done 1 cycle so far, and will do the 2nd cycle the first week in March. No significant side effects thus far. I guess my questions are as follows: Is there anyone in the forum who has CMML, and has anyone traveled the road thru a similar treatment process, and what were your results? From the information out there it seems there is no sterotype for the results??
