I was wondering if any of you have had problems with tendons?

I have been suffering a strange pain on/in my outer thigh. It feels more like a burning, tingling pain rather than an ache. Very sensitive if it is touched, makes it sting. I tend to sleep on that side so have a tendency to roll that way in my sleep and the pain is causing me to wake up fairly fequently during the night. I saw my GP last night nad I'm waiting for an appointment at teh local hospital to get it x-rayed and untrasound scan.

She thinks it is possibly trochantric bursitis. - Now I am not a runner, although I am active and on my feet for most of the day. I'm not overweight. I do a lot of walking and of course running up adn down stairs both at home and in the schools I work in. It may of course turn out to be something entirely different, but I was just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences.

For the record I've been on G for 4 years now.

Thanks

Marian

If it is pain that seems to be just below the surface of the skin on the thigh (not sure from your description), I had the same issue early on.  My research indicated it was likely nerve pain, but there is no official explanation.  The nerve pain explanation makes sense to me based on the odd "depth" that did not quite seem like either skin or muscle.  Gleevec can apparently cause false pain sensations in the nerves.  If I have missed your point, let me know.

Hi,

I have the same pain on both outer thighs. I sleep on one side until the burning wakes me up then I flip to the other side until the burning wakes me up. I do lots of flipping! I had assumed it was bursitis, I had been diagnosed with it before and would get cortisone shots. Now my PCP says that's not a good idea so I take AdvilPM before I go to bed and it doesn't really help but the heat pad feels good. I exercise on a treadmill and walk on a track but I've started noticing an occasional limp on my right leg due to that outer thigh pain. I'm interested in what they think is causing your pain Everonward so please give us an update. Hope you get good news.

Thanks Trey

Yes it is as you describe - I have had knee issues on and off since my teens, when I damaged my left knee cap. I shall see what the hospital says - when I eventually get my appointment.

SunNsand - will let you know what they say.
