How many of you have trisomy 8 present even if CML is "undetected"?

https://www.nature.c...pdf?origin=ppub

The recent paper suggests that trisomy 8 in and of itself is not associated with poor outcomes (advancing disease), but that it should disappear over time with continued TKI treatment.

That has not happened in my case. I still have trisomy 8 even though my CML is "undetected". It is suggested that as long as trisomy 8 is present, I will not be able to have a successful cessation attempt.

Anyone else in this situation?

Diagnosed 11 May 2011 (100% FiSH, 155% PCR)

with b2a2 BCR-ABL fusion transcript coding for the 210kDa BCR-ABL protein

Sprycel: 20 mg per day - taken at lights out with Quercetin and/or Magnesium Taurate

6-8 grams Curcumin C3 complex.

2015 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

2016 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

March        2017 PCR:     0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

June          2017 PCR:     "undetected"

September 2017 PCR:     "undetected"

Hey, scuba. I was in the trisomy team for a role year. it dissapear early in 2016, with my first PCRU (funny thing that when it dissapear i had 1% blasts in my marrow, what my doctor told me it was normal). Now i hovering around low detectable. Fingers crossed everything's fine now. have a check late this month. Cheers.

Lucas,

Consider getting your vitamin D level checked and if below 30, take supplements (vitamin D3) to increase your level to be above 50 ng/ml (but below 100 ng/ml). Vitamin D activates differentiation of blood cells particularly blasts - even leukemic ones and activates your immune system (no flu). Once I increased my vitamin D level (I maintain around 70 ng/ml), my always present blasts decreased to zero - no detection of blasts anymore since around 2014. And I was at 6% at diagnosis.

Just a thought.

Thanks, scuba.

My vitamin D is fine. I live in a sunny city and eat well. I had 1% blasts in my marrow at DX and 3% in my cbc. Good luck.
