Hi Trey, I have been on 200 mg Gleevec for the past four months, I just got the cbc back and my white blood cell count is up one point from 7 to 8 just wondering if this happened to you.
I haven't gotten the genetics report back.
Thanks

My WBC and RBC were below normal when taking 400mg Gleevec, and when I went to 200mg daily they both went up a small amount. Since you began the dosage decrease in a normal WBC range it is understandable that your WBC would rise after a few weeks.

Hi Trey.
What made you decide to go Sprycel after losing remission?

Just to clarify, I did not "lose response" to 200mg Gleevec, I tried cessation and did not maintain PCRU. Then I decided to switch drugs while I was in transition for the reasons cited above and I would have chosen either Sprycel or Tasigna, but my Onc wanted Sprycel so I just went with that. He is my seventh Onc and is just fine so I did not want to try for eight right now. Might get someone named Henry. VIII.

Thanks for your response. If my daughter does go off of Gleevec, the other drugs would not be good for her because of other health conditions that she has. n
