Seems this drug works like our TKIs, but the notion of ZERO side fx makes me very happy.  Anyone know anything about this drug or how it works in comparison to TKIs?

Edit:  it seems its just being used for CLL, but I wonder if it could eventually be tried for other cancers as well.

Venetoclax is a BCL-2 inhibitor and works for a specific type of CLL.  It is possible (but unproven) that a BCL-2 inhibitor might help eliminate high level leukemic stem cells which are quiescent, if it could reach them which is unlikely.  It might also help with Blast Phase CML but that is unproven.

There is no such thing as zero side effects for kinase inhibitor drugs.

I have been on the CLL forums (and AML and ALL) just to see what people talk about and people with CLL feel very lucky, seems to be the one cancer that if you have to get one, is the best one to get.  The medications they take seem to prevent it from progressing and they do say there is very, very minimal (if any) side effects.  I don't know if this is the drug they are taking currently or not.
