Everyone should have their thyroid function tested as part of their TKI treatment program:

http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/24282820

"Followup on thyroid function tests while patients are maintained on tyrosine kinase inhibitor is strongly recommended"

Diagnosed 11 May 2011 (100% FiSH, 155% PCR)

with b2a2 BCR-ABL fusion transcript coding for the 210kDa BCR-ABL protein

Sprycel: 20 mg per day - taken at lights out with Quercetin and/or Magnesium Taurate

6-8 grams Curcumin C3 complex.

2015 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

2016 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

March        2017 PCR:     0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

June          2017 PCR:     "undetected"

September 2017 PCR:     "undetected"

Yeah it wrecked mine. But now it seems to have settled out. I am not on any thyroid medication right now. It took about a year to settle down.

When I stopped Sprycel (even though low dose 20mg), about 3 months later my thyroid went into overdrive and inflamed. I have never experienced anything like it. It took months before it started to subside, but now I am in the "hypo" phase after restarting Sprycel. It's being monitored now and I'll likely have to take some thyroid hormone to balance out.

I am not sure starting a TKI then stopping, then re-starting is good for the body. I had hoped to go one month on - one month off as a maintenance plan now that I am back to near PCRU. It takes a long time for us to acclimate and then when we stop, we get withdrawal symtoms - thyroid dysfunction being one of them. Restart and the thyroid is suppressed from a low point to begin with ... Perhaps that is where the fatigue is coming from ...

That's a much better explanation for the fatigue than what we are getting from the experts. "Fatigue is complicated." Is not helpful to those of us in our 60s that are struggling to continue working.
