I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006 - fortunately it was stage 1 and I was cured - this year I was diagnosed with Cml - my doctor said that the colon cancer has absolutely nothing to do with the Cml diagnosis - he said that it was a "fluke" but now I worry that I am predisposed to cancer and that something else will get me - I have tried to research but have found nothing - can someone share with me and maybe ease my worries- thanks

This may be food for thought.
I am so sad you had to suffer twice. May this be the last time.
Take care,

Depends on the treatment. Chemotherapy can certainly a cause of secondary cancers, including leukemia. What was involved in your treatment?

Hi - I did not undergo chemotherapy for the colon cancer because it was stage 1 and it was contained - I did have surgery and they removed a portion of my colon - Marta

Hey teds - thank you for the article it was very interesting to find out about LS - I had never heard of it but will do more research on it - I consider myself very fortunate because the colon cancer was stage 1 and the Cml is manageable- we are all miracles and are very fortunate to be alive now when advances to cancer are being made daily - thanks again, Marta
