Suddenly found a boil today underarm with pus. Fairly big in size with some pain around the area.

Is this something to do with sprycel or CML.  I take 100mg sprycel. I have often had boils come and go but without pus and were smaller. They would disappear in few days.

My last PCR was stable still detectable with 3 log reduction (0.04).

Thanks

elvis

Hi Elvis,

I am not a morning person, I don't think there's anyone worse than me.My brain just dosn't work.

When I get up I glance at the headlines on the internet, then I check the board and this morning all my mind could comprehend

is How do you boil your underarm, The pus part didn't even register I looked again and all I could see was boil your underarm with pus.

It took 2 cups of coffee to figure it out.

I guess my brain thought it was a new remedy, we have heard a lot of crazy remedys on this board.

Who knows, but I would seek treatment. Boils are often associated with diabetes, at least so my husband's GP told him when he had one on his neck years ago. He wasn't and isn't a diabetic. How is your blood sugar level?

Sometimes bacterial and might require antibiotics. Warm packs and massage to keep it draining. And I don't see how it could be the sprycel though I'm no expert.

I doubt if it's related to Sprycel.  I think we all forget that aside from the CML, we are regular people who get regular stuff.  Check with your doctor for treatment.

gerry, folectulitis , that's looks exactly like the white bumps (that's what I call them) that are behind my knees. I get an occasional one elsewhere, but those go away. I use cortisone cream when they itch. I noticed them just a few days after I went on Sprycel. I think my chair agravates them, because the back of my head itches like crazy sometimes. I'ts the same chair I used when I was on Gleevac. I try to remember to put a sheet on my chair but I forget a lot. I wear jeans pj,s slacks spandex it still gets irritated through my clothes.

A group of us would go to a certain coffee shop for morning coffee, we three girls wound up with hives on our legs. Put it down to what the chairs might have been treated with. Not sure if it would be the same issue for you. Foleculitis is an infection of your hair folicles.

Elvis,

I don't like that recipe.  I prefer to saute mine in butter.

I did warm packs for 2 days in a row and it seems to have subsided.  So hopefully good for now.

Somehow I am wired so much to connect everything to CML. May be as Marnie says we are regular people and would get regular things as well.

It has taken me quite a few years to finally not attribute everything to cml and TKIs.  It is nice to have a scapegoat (it MUST be the sprycel). . . but it's also good to remember that everything else carries on, even though we all are stuck in cml-mode for awhile!

Gail, That is one for the books, they probably used chemicals that cause cml.

No presents for me this year, I got a new furnace, a new washer and dryer that hasn't arrived yet, And a brand new riding lawn mower.

I might have to go back to work, I just hope nothing else breaks.
