I just put in a call to my doctor this morning about this. This is my 4th day on Sprycel 100 mg. having same sideeffects since last night except my face is and leg is tingling. I am worried about the face part, I just read about the hands and feet but the face does worry me. Only right side. Anyone else? Dr. hasnt returned call yet. Sunday.

Dx 2/2015 BCR-ABL1 (p210) 85.2% (IS) 3/15

     22%  5/15     0.13% 6/15   PCRU attained 9/15

Initial dose Sprycel 100 mg 3/15  Lowered 80 mg 5/15   Lowered 50 mg 1/16

Note: dose lowered bc of side effects - not bc onc wanted to reduce dosage

Sprycel: Currently 50 mg per day - taken 10 pm

I feel like kneedles are sticking in my arm. I have been on sprycel since September 2013. Can Sprycel cause nerve damage?

It is not nerve damage.  It is a form of neuropathy that is temporary.  It should end by itself over time.  It is not permanent.

There are some reports out there that say neuropathy is improved with vitamin b-6. If you wanted to try this, get a b complex tablet so you get a balance of all the b vitamins. Most people have bright yellow pee from it. Not to worry, just the excess amt being excreted.

I was told about alpha lipoic acid on another cml discussion board. I was experiencing the tingling in my legs and it was bothering me. I took 300mg. per day and it did disappear. I was told if it didn't work within 3 weeks it probably wouldn't. I ended up taking it for about 6 weeks two times early on with Sprycel and haven't needed it since. Like Trey said, it might have gone away on its own. I did let my onc know I was trying it.

Good luck!

If it doesn't go away, see a doctor - I thought I may have had neuropathy, but ended up having pinched nerves in my neck. That pins and needles feeling is awful - sorry you have to experience it!

Good suggestion, Pin, not everything is about CML or it's treatment!
