Hey, Pat-

Congratulations!

I decided to stop in an see what was going on, couldn't remember password or which email account etc. So the old Gunner is now xGunner.

We should get together sometime if you are in the area! Drinks or something.

-Norm

Hi, Norm, I was wondering if xGunner was you! Your new job sounds exciting would love to hear more about it. Your co-pay though...man, that sucks (not to put too fine of a point on it).

I'm thinking of retiring in about 18 months and Medicare scares me, I don't really know what to expect, but it's not going to be near what I have today - $1,000 out of pocket and that's it. Do you have one of those HSAs that so many companies seem to be going to?

I swear, so many companies seem to be using the poor economic situation as an excuse to screw their employees.

Wow, not sure where all that invective came from! Did you come up to Mason City this summer for the PG convention? I didn't make it out there once, darn it, and there were some really great displays from what I hear.

Take care

Pat

Frank -
Thanks for the heads up, My blood was collected at 7:41 a.m on 1/30. Mayo received it the same day at 7:44 (I assume p.m. since we don't have the capabilities of "beaming" it to the lab, yet - still sent daily by courier). The sample was tested on 2/2 sometime before 16:45.

Ray99,

The detection limit for this sample was 0.006%. Typical clinical samples have detection limits ranging from 0.01% - 0.0001%. Not sure why mine was higher. My last PCR was 0.05%, 0.02% had been my lowest over the past 6 years. (IS)

NEVER ON FRIDAY!!!!

Also, when my Onc started using a new lab (a small one) I asked how often they do PCRs.  I was surprised to find out they are only done once a week on Thursday.  So I time my blood draw to match.  It wouldn't hurt to ask your Onc if Mayo has a non-daily PCR schedule.

Good idea, I'll do that. I know they do them daily M-F because it never seemed to matter what day my appt. was on up there, I would always get the results back that afternoon.

Congratulations Pat!!!!!  I wish I could work how to insert the happy-dance squirrel in this new version of the forum.

That definitely gives me an excuse to have my first drink since dry January.  (From the zit-popping thread I can see that Trey is already off the wagon...)

Hang on, I think I've worked it out!

All the best

Phil

Surprised that the darned squirrel has time to do the happy dance, after making off with my new motorcycle.  Can't you find some way to keep him under control, PhilB?  He's worse than my 6th graders!

Thanks, Phil, glad Herodotus has been brought out into the world again, I've missed his shenanigans!

Hope everyone is fine! Say hi to A - Z for me (and your lovely wife), Pat was just asking the other day what I had heard from you all. We remember our visit, top-notch food (and tours) very fondly!

Congrats! After 10 months my recent BCR/ABL dropped to 6%. I was on 400 mg Gleevec for 6 mos. after my dx on 02/28/14 when my WBC count was at 236 and my BCR/ABL was at 401%. So, after 3 mos. on 400 mg I dropped to 141%, then 79% at 6 mos. at but my onc. said he was hoping for about 10% and wanted to switch me to Sprycel. Instead he upped my Gleevec to 600 mg and after 3 mos. I dropped to the current 6% ! Is that great progress? Am I in good shape or should I be only hopefull if I reach 0%? I will stay on 600 mg. - Best to all! Jim
