Dry skin is about to get the best of me. So much so, it has, at times, kept me awake at night.  Sometimes it hurts. In fact, it hurts right now.  I talked to the hematologist who is going to put in a dermatology consult.  My head itched like crazy on the drive home from work today and tonight, my hair is falling out like crazy.    Heavy sigh!  On the bright side, I do feel better overall from the "excellent" results from the TKI.  It took about a year to noticeably feel better.  Well, I'm off to load up on water for hydration and to moisturize.  Thanks for letting me vent.

The best thing I found for dry skin is CeraVe, not in a tube but in a jar. It works wonders for me but it is not cheap, don't fall over if you check out the price.

My hair fell out in patches, the left side was worse than the right. I finally put an inch guard on the clippers and shaved my head. I didn't pull off the look well but it evened out the bald patches and I could smear lotion on my head easier. I gave new meaning to the greasy look for quite a while.

Looking at the positives always helps. Best of luck with the dermatologist, hoping you find some relief.

Vent away! It is good for the soul.

Among the things I already had on hand, I bought some Lac-hydrin 5 and AmLactin which I think are basically the same thing. Not cheap either.  You mentioned looking on the bright side... no acne blemishes. : )

I recommend CeraVe also.  It was the only cream that helped my hands and feet which were dry, peeling, and developing small cuts.  I still use CeraVe twice a day.  My hands are still dry, but the peeling and cuts are much improved.

I recommend Olive Oil. I use it on my face and hands in the morning and at night when my skin is very dry, and I don't have to leave the house.

I use coconut oil on my face for the dry skin I get from Tasigna.  I already had it in my pantry, so I decided to give it shot on my face and I like how it works.

I use Keri Lotion on arms & legs.  It's effective, but a bit greasy, so I use O'keeffe's Working Hands ... on my hands.  Really takes care of the cracked fingertips. I don't hurt as much anymore.

Cracked fingertips..the thought of that makes me shudder. How can something so small be so incredibly painful! My thumbs crack every winter. If you can stand the five minutes of horrid pain when first applying, New Skin works wonders.

There are many times I get the bottle out but do not have the nerve to apply. I call myself an unflattering name and run from the cupboard.

I had the same terrible itchy head and Tea Tree shampoo really helped.
