Hi Billie! It's Tedsey. Happy New Year to you!
May we keep on celebrating new year after new year after new year, and so on. Grateful for the "risk" and sacrifice Dr Druker et. al. made so we "old-timers" have been able to see so many new years since dx.
So happy to be alive and living well (5 yrs post dx).
Happy New Year to old and new BIFs* on the board.
Tedsey

Imaginary, Teds, imaginary! We're not invisible - Trey looks like a, ah, ah...Texas Union stamp, you look like Madonna (!), Billie (and many others) look like someone in the witness protection program and I look like a...dog. Hmm, maybe we should remain invisible!

Hi Tedsey,
Oh it's so good to finally be able to talk to all my friends. I missed everyone so much. I could not get back online it took me 8 months. Now I just have to convince them I'm a girl! Under profile it says gender but it won't accept female.Oh well I figure eventually they will turn me into a girl or a butterfly, Actually butterfly sounds better. Than witness protection.
I bet your beautiful babies are getting so big. It happens so fast doesn,t it? My 2 precious grandsons are growing so fast I think I will have them call me aunt billie (not really I'm so proud to have such precious grandsons I love having them call me grama billie.) I just lie about all our ages. I hope you have been feeling good, and you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year. Love Billie

Hi Pat, I'm trying to get back to you but I have had way tooooo much wine. You would not believe the day I had today. I'll tell you about it tomorrow. At noon today I get a call from the social worker from where Ron is in rehab. They tell me I have to bring him home tomorrow before noon or our ins won't pay. Nobody even told me how to care for him or what help was available for him. Long story short 4 social workers trying to cover their asses because nobody showed up for work Dec.31 and read their mail. And our ins said I had 24 hrs to file an extension for his care. That was wed.and they called me today at noon and tell me I had to take him home tomorrow. I still don't know what happened to him. Anyway I think I have everything on hold, and those bitches thought they were going to scare me by telling me if I didn't have him out of there by tomorrow I would have to pay for his care $4000.00 a day. Or contact medicaid let them pay but I would put a lein against our house, plus take our savings it was a nightmare, luckily I called a lawyer for advice in case it became a long term rehab for him he should have 100 days of coverage before the gov't takes over. I'm so glad I worked all my life, and Ron spent a year in viet-nam in the jungles, then worked construction and fell off a roof 25 feet and landed on cement was in the hospital 4 months and then worked 22 years for the pa fish and boat commision until he could retire.
We both worked hard all our lives and never asked for anything and these 4 social workers are trying to cover their asses I don't think so, the sad part is how many other people fall for this because of fear. If 1 person had opened that letter on dec 31 I would have been notified and all this could have been avoided.. I'm so tired but I can't remember the last time I slept. So please everyone don't just talk to ins reps go straight to the top always ask to talk to the supervisor of claims. Sincerely Billie

Hi Billie, Remember me? Blessings for 2015 to all of us. I see most of the people I met on this board a couple of years, we are still alive! Been a heck of a journey, that's for sure, and we have lived to tell it!! Boy have I learned alot, especially about the health care system and insurance and providers, and yea and how to speak up to doctors if I need to. Take good care of yourself, PamSouth
Hi Pam,
Good to hear from you. I just put up a post about what we have to put up with our healthcare plan. They call all the shots. What did we pay for all these years? I hope you're feeling good. Billie
