Hi, I recently posted how tired I was of the side effects even after being on sprycel 100mg since May of 2013. I took a sprycel break for 6 days (without my Onc consent). But I got paranoid and scared so I went back on it. Back in august I showed my Onc a rash that looked like mosquito bites and she dismissed it saying it had nothing to do with the meds. So I dealt with it and rash went away beginning of November. Now that I got back on sprycel on Monday (?). The rash is coming back. It's only on my left leg and they look like bug bites and very itchy, along with extreme tired. Hopefully the other aches and pains don't come back!!! I've always had the red burning cheeks. That never went away but this new cluster is not only gross looking when itchy but my Onc says it's not related. However it comes back when I start to crash. Has Anyone had this happen with the sprycel?

TKI drugs cause rashes, my onc gave me topical erythromycin.  It helps sometimes.

There are other things you can use too.  If it is just annoying, talk to a dermatologist but if it gets real bad you could have to switch to another drug, but that doesn't happen that often for rashes from what I have read.

Odd your doctor is dismissing them as being unrelated, read the Sprycel package insert, it will tell you rashes are side effect and to tell your doctor when you get them.  Maybe show that to your doctor.

See section 6.3 and 17.8, also see last page under "other common side effects"

It bothers me when doctors do not read up on the drugs they are prescribing.

To her defense (Onc). It was in the summer and they looked like bug bites instead of rash. I swear I thought I had fleas in my bed. But it's back in a small cluster. I have an appt with her next week and will show her. But I swear it's do to the side effects too.

I got a bad rash while Gleevec on my face, went to the ER and they gave me Prednisone.  At the time I was also taking bentyl which also causes rashes.  Onc reduced my dosage and brought it up again, I have only had small rashes since.

Was prescribed Clobestasol Propionate .05%  really works rashes are gone within minutes.

Last CMC showed liver enzymes elevated, went to a good Naturopath and he recommended 4 Tumeric, 10,000 mg Vitamen D, and 3 milk thistle (silymarin) daily. Also use One<p>Day Detox Dandeloin tea, and Nettle Tea and a slice of ginger every day...in two months liver tests were below normal.Janis
