I was comparing my blood work from October to November I noticed my Alkaline Phosphatase increased from 92 to 158 in about 3 weeks but my Doctor said all my numbers look great. I also noticed my Bilirubin went up from 1.11 to 1.17..  I have a dull pain at my side where I think my pancreas is but the crazy thing it thats getting better as these number go up.  I worried that there something else wrong, did anyone else experience this ?   I do have some more blood work on tuesday and after the results I am going to ask my Doctor why we haven't talked about the increase. Second question does anyone know what else I should ask?

I started Tasigna about 6 weeks ago and my Alkaline Phosphate has been going up as well. I was at 126 but that was 2 weeks ago. I assume it has gone up from there. I will find out next week. My liver test ALT and AST are normal.

ALP can be raised somewhat by TKI drugs.  Unless it goes very high and stays there, and also has other indicators such as high ALT and AST, it is usually not a problem.  But have your doc keep an eye on it.

Thanks Trey, they need to have separate minimum and maximum for CML patients on these blood tests!

Just something I consider interesting concerning my AST/ALT. Before I developed liver toxicity on Gleevec in August 2009 my liver enzymes counts had always been in the mid to high teens. During the hepititis episode they reached 1500 and it was just at my last blood draw in October that they were back down in the mid to high teens.

They had dropped back into the normal level within 7 weeks after stopping Gleevec in 2009 but it took over 5 years for them to slowly drop back to where they had been before the toxicity episode.

Apropos of nothing, I just thought about it after reading these posts.
