My 20 year old son was diagnosed with CML 3 months ago.  He is taking Sprycel.  We live in PA.  I contacted my Representative about voting for this bill and he is actually a sponser of it.  Do we know when they will vote on it?  We are ok now because I work for the State and have a great Prescription plan that covers the cost of Sprycel except for a small copay.  What I am worried about is when my son turns 26 and has to get his own prescription plan.  Hopefully he will have a job that provides coverage but if he does not, does anyone know if you can pay for a presription plan that will cover the cost of Sprycel since he will be on it the rest of his life.

Thanks,

Kim

The idea of PA proposal is that the TKIs would be covered under medical rather than prescription.

If you buy a plan on the exchange, it would have to meet the state and Federal requirements.  In any case, there are limits on out-of-pocket expenses on exchange plans.
