I have been on sprycel since august 2013. Recently discovered I have boarder line pulmonary hypertension. Have been taken off sprycel until I get cardiac clearance. My dr has not decided which med to restart me on. Wondering if anyone has had cardio or pulmonary problems with gleevec or other chemo meds? He also mentioned looking for a stem cell doner just in case I'm unable to take the other two options. I can't remember the other med right at his second. It tesignia or something like that. I'm extremely sensitive to medication side effects. If it has a side effect I usually end up with it. Total "problem child".

It's fine that your dr is being prudent and looking for donor just in case, but really it only serves to scare you at this point. All cml drugs have some side effects. Some come and go some are worse than others and everyone reacts a bit differently. This particular side effect is rare but it happens with Sprycel it is more rare to non-existent on the others. There's no reason to think a drug switch will not work out fine for you. Probably switch to Tasigna. There is also Gleevec and Bosulif. There are some other options after those as well, not to mention dose modifications. You have a long away to go before you start thinking of Bone marrow transplant.
