Hi

I have been suffering from fatty liver since 2000. I have got Gilbert Syndrome as well. My liver enzyms were always been elevated.

When I stated taking gleevec 4 months ago, my liver enzyms started moving down and finally reached within ideal ranges.I was so happy to get a normal liver data. But I have recently getting mild bone pain and blood tests revealed vitamin D deficiency and type A fatty liver.

Can vitamin D deficiency cause fatty liver with elevated enzyms ? Doctor do not think it is caused by gleevec toxicity. ..

Can gilbert syndrome have any impact on gleevec and CML ?

Any comments ?

Thomas

The Gilbert Syndrome should not be a concern.  It is generally related to bilirubin, not the rest of the liver enzymes such as AST and ALT.
