I worked with someone who won lotto three times - not sure if his first prizes were by himself or part of a syndicate. He also used to win prizes in other competitions. Mind you he entered a lot of competitions.

I wondered for a long time why I didn't win the lottery.  Then my wife pointed out to me I had to by a ticket.  Hmpf!  I thought it was ALL luck!

I could maybe broker a deal for London Bridge with you.  But I think it will require a maintenance contract on the Tower of London.  Let me get back to you.

Your friend reminds me of a character in the movie, "Real Genius."  Entered a lot of contests and one a third of them or something.  What a trailer load of prizes.

Man, I would have much rather won the lottery than CML...considering the odds.  Never bought a ticket for either tho.  Anyway, a little off subject, I am very excited to see what comes about from OSU/Dr Druker's research on AML.  May it become a mostly controllable disease like CML in the very near future.  A cure would be better, but a new lease on life is always a good thing.  Could I put a bid out for the bridge, either one (Brooklyn or  London)?

Best of everything to everyone and good health in the New Year and years forward.

Hi Gerry:  You made a good point about dehydration.  For some reason I just never get enough fluids into me.  I try, but I do not drink enough water.  I do not even drink with my meals.  I have been told to drink water as I eat, but its something I just never do.  I always have a glass of something at the dinner table, but I take a sip here and there.

I am a huge coffee drinker in the morning, and I know coffee can dehydrate you.  I started taking Magnesium Tablets every  morning, and the cramps have gotten better to some extent.  I am really starting to think that the Nexium has depleted me of my Magnesium.

My mother tryed Tonic Water, but she said it made her sick.  I guess she could not tolerate the quinine for some reason.

Hi Susan,

I only tried tonic water once many years ago - didn't like the taste of it, so never tried it again.

I was taking magnesium prior to diagnosis and continued with it, I still had muscle cramps, the worst being when they seem to have done damage to the muscle or tendon in my left and right calves, plus in the back of the right thigh. The right calf is the worse. I'm hoping now I'm off Gleevec that it might get better. I found any injury took longer to heal on the Gleevec.

Have you tried something like Lipton Green Tea to drink - it has a bit less caffeine than coffee and you might find it more palatable than water.

Towards the last month of Gleevec, I started getting a cracking in my neck and it seemed to grate when I turned my head. I've put it down to one of two things, either the Gleevec, or the additional calcium supplement I was taking which I've now stopped. The noise and grating sensation has almost stopped now. The specialist told me I was probably getting osteoarthritis and it wouldn't be the Gleevec when I mentioned it to him.

The TKI drugs can cause changes in bone remodeling.  But it would not normally cause a fibula to be more prone to breaking.  It is more likely to affect trabecular bone remodeling such as in the upper femur and hip.
