If anyone has any Gleevec they dont need I will buy them for what you payed.  We recently got new insurance and my co-pay went from $35 a month to $250 a month and I cant get any help cause my husbands income is to much.  I will pay you back for shipping also. I cant afford $250 a month, i am paying it but we are struggling really bad.  My family dr co-pay is now $40 and my oncoligist is $60, and I have to see a specialist also for my migraines now.  i dont know if I am allowed to ask for any Gleevec but thought I would give it a try.  I did have 1 nice lady send me a un-opened bottle of gleevec and I wont mention her name but I thank her so much for doing that!!!  Please help if you can!!!  Thank you!!

Dee,

Just wondering if you have checked with your insurance to see if there is  a cap on the amount you must pay out of pocket for your drugs? Sometimes there is.

Best regards,

Pat

I have talked actually begged the insurance company to help and I called the company that makes Gleevec.  I was given a bunch of numbers and sites to call or go to and nothing.  The only person left is the President of the U.S.  I am about ready to say my husband and I are split up so I can get some help.  As the "old timers" know me on here my anxiety attacks are worse, my migraines are awful and I am very depressed and the body aches and pains are worse.  No way could I work but cant get disability either cause they count my husbands income.  We are middle class but sure as hell arent rich.  Where is the help for us?  I didnt ask to get CML!!!  Now I cant get any help anywhere.  Thats why i am asking maybe someone got switched to another pill and had some Gleevec i could buy....was just a thought.

dee145, please contact me.  I can help.  If you can, send me a private email.  I don't know how to do this but someone did send me one so I'm sure it is possible.  Maybe because your email is private and mine is not. Anyone else know how she can contact me without being on this site?

She could send you a private message on this site and let you know what her personal e-mail address is.  Then you could contact her via personal e-mail.  If you (or she) click on the "Create" dropdown menu at the top of the screen, it should be pretty easy to figure out.

Thanks Marnie, I did check and my email is not private so she can email me.  Hers is private so i cannot email her.  I would really like to help her since I know what it's like to not be able to get my Gleevec.  I too had to pay a high copay at beginning ($956.00) til I got my onc involved.  Who could afford that kind of copay.  I only had to pay it one time, thank God.

Hi Barbara:  Just wanted to let you know that your mailbox is full, and you cannot receive any messages from anyone. The mailbox fills up very fast, and you have to keep deleting messages as your done reading them.  I do not even use it much. I prefer to use my regular e-mail.  I was going to send you a personal message.

I don't have any Gleevec, but I totally feel your pain. I just paid $3,494 out of pocket for my deductible and coinsurance for 3 months of Sprycel. I will max out after paying $5,500 (so after my next order or next onc visit). That does not include the $430 per month we pay in premiums with no dental or vision coverage. It also only includes my deductible and co-insurance. The rest of my family has a $3,500 deductible as well. My husband is a high school teacher and I work part-time, so we are definitely not rich. :-)  I didn't even realize I could get any type of assistance -- always assumed we made too much money to qualify -- I will have to check into it. Since my diagnosis in 2010, we spend between $12k and $15k per year on medical/health insurance costs. It totally stinks!

I hope someone can help you!

Hi:  You won't know if you do not try.  There are so many different applications you can do for assistance.  Some companies have a program for non-insured along with some help even if you have insurance.  It take so long for them to get back to you.  I have been working on getting help from different companies, as we should qualify with the income we have at the present time.

If I get any helpful information that I can share, I will post it for everyone.  We are struggling right now also, and it does stink.  Our benefits went up, but so did the co-pays.  You cannot help but wonder where this is all going.

acb, Try PSI.  You may be able to get soom help there.  Healthwell Foundation is another place.  You just have to keep trying.  You'll go through having to do a lot of paperwork but it will pay off if you just keep trying.  l had my Oncologist on my side so that helped a lot.  If you can get the staff at your doctors office on board, they can help get it quicker.  Good luck and God Bless.
