Got confirmed CCYR today, from my 6 month bmb results, clean as a whistle

Only took 3 months to get BMB results, ugg.

Didnt mind it that much since the pcr results were good last time (0.1% IS).

Took my 9 month pcr test today, so im hoping for some good results in 10 days time.

WBC, ANC and platelets had gone down a bit from 6 and 12 weeks ago, but was still fine according to onc.

WBC: 5.1

ANC: 2.5

Plateletes: 140

I have been sick now for almost a week with the flu, might have had something to do with that, not sure, but i felt better today so went and had my blood drawn.

Will post when i get PCR results.

Teddy

Have my fingers crossed for you Teddy.

That is a bit of a wait to get results, good thing you're staying positive.

Thanks GerryL, yeah 3 months is a long long time, i asked onc what they did if it was a hard to treat case or risk factors, and she said it was no problem, cause then it would get priority and done a lot faster

Thanks alexa, so far so good, exited about getting the pcr results though

Now if only that flu would go away completely!!

Exactly what was the delay as I assume they would be testing the blood fairly quickly?

Hi Teddy:  Wish you good results when they come in.  Your doing good and on your way to PCRU.  I just went for my PCR test today also, and will get my results back next week.  I have been PCRU since 2002, but I still get anxious till I see my report myself.  Its only natural to feel that way.  You got to th CCYR, and that is a real positive thing in itself.

Be sure to let us know how you do.

Susan

Thanks Susan, i will post as soon as the results are in

The onc just explained that cytogenetic testing had become very popular, and the labs had a lot to do at the moment.

So, no particular reason i guess, it just takes a long time for cytogenetic testing at that particular hospital.

Okay so after 9 months of 400mg Gleevec, i got my pcr results today:

International Scale:

          BCR-ABL1/ABL1              BCR-ABL/GUS

04.11.12     76%                         21%

06.14.12     17%                         10%

07.26.12     3%                           3%

10.24.12     0.10%                      0.08%

01.15.13     0.02%                      0.01%

Wow, im in shock right now, the October results were delivered 1 day to late to the lab, so it was good to have this as a confirmation that things actually do look good at the moment, cause on this last test (01.15.12) it was deliverd on time

I must say im pleased, looking good so far, thanks guys for all your continued support, tonight i will open a bottle of good red wine

Thanks Ray and GerryL

I really hope i can hit CMR, but that might be a bit optimistic, oh well, time will tell. Would be nice to be eligible for a drug discontinuation some time in the future.

You're heading in the right direction. I still have to wait until October berfore I have a go at coming off Gleevec. My next blood test is in May, so fingers crossed another negative on the 300mg Gleevec.

Thanks Calialily. Yeah, its definitely a comfort, but to still know i have Leukemia is tough, but its getting better and better coping with the situation. If the results continue downward, then i guess i will live a pretty normal life, ill just be looking myself over the shoulder from time to time, remembering the CML, and trying not to think about it to much.

Celebration this weekend, beer now, wine later
