My PCR from my BMB on 12/13 was 0.154% (IS)....missed MMR by 0.054%.   The doc ran another PCR on the 12/27, haven't gotten the results back from that yet.  Do you think my PCR could drop into MMR territory in (2) weeks?  Or is that wishful thinking?

Either way, I'm still happy with the results and so is my doc.  Changing doctors was the best decision I think I have ever made.  Just would have been cool to have gotten to MMR within (7) months of being diagnosed.

I'm taking 400mg of Tasigna twice a day.  If I can get to CMR, would it be a reasonable request to seek a reduction in dosage?  While my side effects have been pretty minimal, I'm still worried about the potential negative effects of the drug on both my liver and pancreas.

Standard dosage for Tasigna is 300mg twice daily for those who start in Chronic Phase CML, so I would drop down to that.

Given the vagaries of PCR testing the second PCR result will either be lower or higher just due to the test itself.  It would have been better to wait at least a month before doing the second one.

While I completely understand the emotional reasoning and desire to achieve these things, understand that realistically you are trying to sprint through a marathon.  Your response has been outstanding, and that alone is worth celebrating.  Try not to get hung up on the technical difference of fractional percentages for a test that is no where near accurate enough to track such subtle differences.

There shouldn't be any reason why you wouldn't be able to go down to 300mg instead of 400mg.
