The blood counts dancing around will make you a bit nuts. At first they are high and you pray for them to go down, then they start going down and you are happy but then they keep going down and you get concerned again, and start praying they go up. Then when they go up you start to freak out because you're not sure if they're going up because of the CML. So you start praying again
Overall I have had pretty normal counts, never went too low, but I had gotten sick a couple of months back and I had a CBC done at the hospital. WBC was on the higher end of normal, highest they had been since I started taking Gleevec and got things under control. My differentials were also kind of screwy. I was concerned, but the ER doctor looked at them and just said this looks like the CBC of someone who is fighting off a viral infection. He said he had consulted with the on-call onc at my doctor's office and they agreed it was fine, so I went home and tried to forget about it. I felt better a few days later, saw my onc about a month later, counts were back to normal and I showed her a copy of the CBC from the hospital. She said it looked like the CBC of someone fighting off a viral infection
