Hi all! I have been having some stomach issues lately (unrelated to the CML), so I've been online of course researching everything I could possibly have. I went to my PCP who decided to treat me for a disease that there was no way that I had. Since I've decided she has no idea what she is talking about, I am finally going to the gastroenterologist. As I said, I have been reading about various possible causes for my issues and I came across Celiac disease. I am not trying to diagnose myself, so dont think that. What I am wondering though is about a connection that scientists have found. They discovered that patients who have Celiac disease are 5 times more likely to develop Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I know there is a difference obviously, but what do you guys think about a possible connection between this and CML? Thanks.
Connection??

Hi Margaret: You said you have some stomach issues, but you did not say what they were. I just went
through the same thing myself. I saw a Gastroenterologist, and the first thing he did was blood work to check
for Celiac Disease etc. I then had a Colonoscopy, and it came back just fine. They did find that I had Diverticulosis
and a irritable bowel. A lot of it was nerves worrying about what I did have, and looking things up on the
computer to just make you worry even more. I do not have to go back for another colonoscopy now for 5 years.
The weird thing is that my stomach has been fine now. Go see the doctor, and take it from there.

If you mean linking Celiac, CML and NHL, close to zero. You would be better off trying something like Web MD Symptom Checker:

Thanks for the replies. Please understand that I am not trying to get around going to the doctor, or diagnosing myself. I was simply thinking about a possible connection between CML and something I found on WebMD. Thanks for the info on going gluten-free. I already try to avoid dairy, since I know it makes me sick. I may try losing the gluten as well. Thanks again.
