I've changed my time, I don't see any problem with it.

Hi Nora, I have been known to switch the time I take my Gleevec. I usually take it at 5:00 p.m. but sometimes when we go out for lunch, I will take it at 12:00 p.m. I've never had any problems doing that. And in the beginning when I was first dx, I was taking it at 8:00 p.m. I always take mine with my biggest meal, so I do not get sick. Hope that helps.
Hope you have a good day.

Hi Nora,
I have changed multiple times. Began taking it at breakfast and now take it at dinner. Think the important thing is to be consistent once you choose the time of the day that best works for you. I switched because I found I had less side effects if I took it in the evening. That is what works for me - everyone is different.
Take care,
Fran

You can take your Gleevec at whatever time you want. Just try to take it at the same time each day. With me I take it first thing in the morning with Breakfast. I have to take mine with a full meal to avoid nausea, which has gotten a lot better through the years. Some people like to take it with their dinner, as its a bigger meal. A lot of people say they like to take it before bed so they can sleep through the side effects. There is no definite answer. You take it when it works for you.

I take my dosage any time throughout the day. I used to adhere to a VERY strict time and didn't deviate any more than two hours, -/+.

Dr. Druker once told me that there is a 2 hour window allowance when taking Gleevec however 'once in a while' it is ok to take at a different time as when out late or traveling to a different time zone. That being said, I took my first few doses at 6pm with my evening meal but soon switched to bedtime due to it making me queasy and tired. Hope this helps. Skittles
