A few weeks ago, someone asked this question on the Thursday evening CML chat. She and I both had HELLP syndrome with two of our pregnancies, and she wondered if anyone had ever investigated a link with CML. There were only about 11 of us online at the time, so I have to wonder if it's more than coincidence that two of us had had HELLP twice.
If you're scratching your head and wondering what HELLP syndrome is, it's a subset of pre-eclampsia for which the only cure is delivering the baby. H = hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells), EL = elevated liver enzymes, and LP = low platelets.
