When I first started taking G not quite 3 years ago it was over $125 per pill. Are you sure you did your math correctly? That price seems low to me. My Sprycel is slightly over $266 per pill.
From what I hear from others their price for G is around $180 per pill currently.

Are you by any chance taking 4 pills a day of 100mg rather than the 400mg pill everyone else is quoting numbers for?

the price on my Tasigna box is $5500 for 28 days supply. works out to be $45 per pill = $180/day. Some people would argue i'm not worth that much

I was paying about $130.00 a pill for 400mg of Gleevec until August /11. Now on Sprycel and the cost is just over $78.00 per 50 mg pill. Currently taking 100mg a day. I live in Ontario Canada. Jeff

I take tasigna--$8250.00 for 28 day supply. I take 4 a day--that cost $294.00 a day or $73.00 a pill!!!!

Tenderheart,
Without insurance it would cost me $186 per pill. Rediculous! I have heard the patent will end soon which will lower the cost.
Good luck,
Mario

How Expensive is Gleevec? Well, it is delivery by BRINKS to my pharmacy, with an armed guard! ;^)
But I no longer buy it. I'm out of insurance and, because of varied doses, have enough for about 8 months.
Then the fun begins. Will try for someother insurance coverage, pray and hope. Take care

Mine started out in April of 2010 for a 90 day supply (if I had no insurance) around $14,000+...........my last 90 day supply in May of 2013 if I didn't have insurance would have been $19,000+

My pharmacy recently switched their computer system and the last couple months tried to charge me $7,000 each time it took about a hour before the head pharmacist overrode the system.

HI: What did you actually pay for a 90 day supply. I get a 90 day supply of Gleevec for $112.00, and my doctor writes for 3 refills. Last Year I was paying $80.00 for a 90 day supply. Thats why I am so afraid of losing our insurance that we presently have. I am stuggling even at this rate with all the other medical bills.
I do not know what people are going to do in the future with the way things are going.

I have Cigna and I use the Cigna Tel-Drug and it's $87 every 90 days as it's considered a "specialty" drug. I wonder why it has to be considered a "chemo" drug or a "specialty" drug when it sorta kinda does the same thing like Metformin would do for a diabetic. It keeps their glucose blood level controlled, where Gleevec keeps our white counts controlled.

Greetings,
I was on Gleevac and paid $4680/month or $156 per pill, Then I went on Sprycel and then Boslif and they went up a little. I am now on Ponanitib and that is $9880/month and that means $322 per pill. There are only about 2200 people on this drug since its release in Dec 2012. Ariad the manufacture wants no one to pay more that $20 per month to take this drug so my insurance pays everything except $80/month and then Ariad pays $60 of the $80. So far for me this is the cheapest because of the co=pay help.

Both of the sources my insurance accepts cost exactly the same: $7800 for 30 pills, or $260 per.
I hope I'm worth it.

Being able to afford Gleevec is a real problem for most of us. Medicare Advantage left me looking at a $10,000+ out of pocket per year. I looked online for a reputable, certified, and reliable Canadian drug company as a more economical alternative. I found two: PlanetDrugsDirect.com and NorthWestPharmacy.com. PlanetDrugsDirect has 400mg generic imatinib for $848 for a 90 day supply; NorthWestPharmacy has it for $1600. I preferred to use the latter, and thanks to their price guarantee, I was able to call them up, use a credit card, and buy the 90 day supply of generic imatinib for $848. Personally, I fail to see why Novartis raised the price from $90 per pill when I began taking it in 2005 to $200 or more per pill today. It isn't illegal, but it is certainly unethical. Maybe you will have the same luck I have. I'm pretty happy with less than $10 per pill.

Yup, the price is definitely going up - perhaps in anticipation of the patent expiration in the US (?). My latest insurance bill just increased from $6,475 to over $7,000 for a 30-day supply of 400mg tablets.
