My family just got hit again with another leukemia diagnosis. My husbands grandma was just diagnosed with AML. She is very advanced and with her other illnesses she is not a candidate for aggressive treatment. We are going to go see her over Labor Day weekend.

Hi Kim: Sorry for the bad news. I agree with Lucky. You can only do what you can. Glad you will be seeing her for Labor Day. She is in the acute stage, and not chronic with other health issues so I do not know what they can do for her at this point. It depends on her age also.

Got more news today. She is really advanced and with her heart condition and infection they can not treat her. They will just make her comfortable.
