Counts are very solid.  PCR is undectable!  I confirmed the sensitity of lab, it means the reduction is 4 log or more, they don't go below that so I don't know if it is CMR4.0, CMR4.5, or CMR5.0.  I guess for now that doesn't matter.  Maybe in a few years if I can maintain this and dare I say look into the possibility of stopping the drug I will need a more sensitive test.  For now, I'm just going to enjoy this.

Of course in typical fashion for me, the overall results are outstanding, but there has to be the one stick in the mud; notice the 1 positive cell on the FISH.  Dr. said there is a 3%-5% variance on the FISH test and she feels it is a false positive.  Given the PCR results I'm going to ride with that.  She said if she had any concern she would have me repeat the test.

So for today, I am happy and feeling pretty good.  Amazing what a ride this year has been.  Hopefully I can get back to living a normal life, maintain these results, and just deal with the BS that comes along with taking Gleevec.

I hope everyone is doing well today......

Hi:  Great News.  You are doing good after 11 months.  I did not respond that fast, it took me awhile to get to PCRU.  Enjoy life and just keep doing what your doing.  Your right about the dealing with the Gleevec and side effects, but I do not even think about them anymore unless someone asks me some specifics about it.  I have just learned to live with them, and glad that I have been able to handle it all.

Have a great weekend.  Do something for yourself to celebrate.

Good news!  Great progress after 11 mo, too.

Enjoy the good news.  The PCR is more reliable now than the FISH.  Like Phil said, you can get a BCR protein next to an ABL protein in a cell and it looks like a positive BCR-ABL result.

You are indeed one of the lucky ones — live with it!

Be alert, but not overly concerned.

• Dx Oct. 22, 2008, WBC 459k, in ICU for 2 days + in hospital 1 week

• Leukapheresis for 1 week, to reduce WBC (wasn't given Hydroxyurea)

• Oct. 28, 2008: CML confirmed, start Gleevec 400mg

• Oct. 31, 2008: sent home when WBC reached 121k

• On/off, reduced dose Gleevec for 7 months

• April 2009: Started Sprycel 100mg

• Sept. 2009: PCRU 0.000

• Sept. 2011: after 2 years steady PCRU & taking Sprycel 100mg before bed, quit Sprycel (with permission)

• Currently: still steady PCRU, testing every 6 months 🤗

— Fatigue, hearing loss continue, alas, but I prefer to think it is all getting better!

Hi Teds,

How were your PCR results - I'm not liking the sound of you having to have a BMB in August, it's not due to the results of your PCR?

Gerry

Congratulations, Lucky!  Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic news.  It really gives me hope.  I had my 2nd (six month) PCR test about 10 days ago and should find out the results this week.  It is scary but your post gives me hope.   I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Nat

Dear Gerry,

Well, after 19 mos (dx Nov. '09), I am not MMR, (but, phew, it appears I am holding CCyR since last Dec.).  My PCR is down a bit again, but it falls with in the 1 log to 1/2 log margin of error.  So, the BMB will show if I have stalled, or am very slowly healing.  I stalled on Gleevec after 9 months and have had a slow, but steady response on Sprycel since Aug. 2010.  We shall see.  I get nervous after reading about the young man who sped to MMR then went into blast crisis after running a marathon.  I have been feeling so well and have so much energy.  I will be so shocked if the results come out bad.  But I think my onc is right to want to take a look inside.  I tolerate the BMB well for some weird reason.  It is not that painful for me.  Thank goodness for small favors.

Hope you are feeling well.  Thank you so much for your concern,

Teds

Hi Tedsey:  Have not talked to you in a long time, and I have watched you jump ahead with a good response.  I can still remember when you were not doing very well, and it was so hard on you.  You sound so much better, and I think your doing a heck of a lot better too.  I think your news is great also.

I do pray you get to PCRU at some point, but look at all the people who live with the Ccyr results and do just fine also.  Just have faith that your August BMB turns out really good.  I love hearing all the good news for a change.

Take Care & God Bless

Susan
