Just something to be aware of if you are taking a Statin for your cholesterol whilst on Gleevec. I had seen a reduction in my cholesterol levels since starting Gleevec and after consultation with my GP, I went off the Statin I was taking. Since then my cholesterol level has slowly risen again - so it wasn't the Gleevec improving my cholesterol, but probably making my liver store up the Statin. I had been on the lowest dosage for the Statin.
My GP suggested I try Psyillum Husk for my cholesterol instead of starting a Statin again. Will find out in October if it works for me.
