I thought my appointment today was only for a consultation but my Onc. suggested getting the BMB right away so we can get the results & discuss the options. To summarize; I started on Gleevec & switched to Tasigna 10/2009. Last month my BCR/ABL showed a two log increase.

Here is my question- Onc. said my bone marrow was extremely thick, like concrete. He really didn't have any experience like that before & wondered if it was due to the Tasigna. Anyone else have this experience?

Only good part of the day was stopping for a prime rib dinner & enjoying a tall cool Harp Lager.

I have cancer but it doesn't have me

This is sometimes called a "dry tap", and can be associated with marrow fibrosis, packed marrow (high WBC count), or just a lack of fluid in the marrow.

I had the same problem. All that discomfort (and I could tell they were really pressing) and nothing at all to show for it.
