Hi, just wondering if it is normal to get edema from Gleevec in one limb at a time.  When we were on vacation, my left knee area swelled up.  This is an old knee injury site, so it often does swell with over use, but it was worse this time around, likely because I couldn't take any antiinflammatories to bring it back down.

Now the swelling is very noticeable in my left arm, but largely gone from my knee.  The last time my left arm swelled up like that was after the car accident and the whiplash injury, about 18 mos ago.  I haven't had it swell up since then.  And I certainly haven't been doing anything to make it swell up.  I've been pretty much of a slug around the house.

Does the gleevec kinda aggravate old injuries?

Hi Traci,

My left ankle gives me the most trouble with edma - when I mentioned it to the specialist, he said it was because the circulation in my left leg was probably worse than my right and asked me if I had injured my leg at anytime.
