Our son who is 16 is taking Gleevec and also Zofran he was dx. in 09 with CML.
Why so many "younger" people with CML

She was diagnosed in April 2010, so Gleevec was the ONLY drug for first-line treatment approved at that time. Still on Geevec and doing OK with minimal side effects.

My son is also on Gleevac 400mg daily & doing very well. Only side effect is intermittant muscular-skeletal pain which can range from very slight to quite severe.
