Hello,

Thought this might be of help to one or two others who have the same condition. I visited a dermatologist today regarding what appeared to be a rash on my face which appeared after I started taking Glivec. He has diagnosed Ketatosis Pilaris.

More information is available at http://en.wikipedia....ratosis_pilaris  &   http://www.buzzle.co...s-on-face.htmln

The dermatologist is going to check whether there had been any new research in how to deal with it, in regard to Glivec. When I find out whether the dermatologist is prescribing something I will update this thread. In the meantime I am using an AHA lotion, which has cleared some of it up. The dermatologist also said that the AHA creams/lotions takes about three months to fully work and that it will be an ongoing item, I will need to continue with.

I had the rash on my face and upper chest area for about a 3 mth. period in the beginning of treatment, but that did go away completely thank goodness. Cortisone cream got me through it.

Hi SunNSand,

It's good to know that Cortisone cream helped you. I've tried it but it didn't work for me - I've had the Keratosis on my face for about six months now - since starting Glivec.

I had the typical Glivec rash behind on my legs - which for me was similar to hives or heat rash in appearance - mine cleared up within a week using Periactin (an antihistamine) and a topical antiseptic cream.
