Sorry to hear you lost your health insurance.  Its so expensive, but when my husband was out of work, and in between jobs we got COBRA which kept our health insurance intact until he could get a new job and switch over the insurance.  We never let the insurance lapse.  We had to take money out of my husbands retirement fund to pay for the COBRA for so many months.  I do not know if you had that option, and just was not aware of it.

If you have no insurance, you might have to apply to the drug companies for assistance on medication.  They go by your present income etc.

As for the lab work, maybe you would qualify for Medicaid.  I do not know what your situation is with your present income.

I wish you the best.  Research some things that might help you out.

Our state has an insurance program (IL).  It is for people who are denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions or have their insurance canceled because of an expensive medical condition.  You may want to check to see if your state has such a program.  Novartis and the LLS both have programs that could help subsidize the cost of your medication or get it to you for free.  There are also other non-profit organizations that help people get their meds.

http://www.patientassistance.com/

http://www.needymeds.org/

http://www.insure.co...free-drugs.html (an insurance site, but they list some ways to get free or discounted meds)

There are many other resources on the web.  There is also medicare and medicaid.  You may be eligible for either.

Good luck.  No one should be without life-saving medication or medical care.
