Anyone get to CCyR or PCRu on 70 mg Sprycel?  Just curious if 70 mg. can actually 'work'.

Diagnosed 11 May 2011 (100% FiSH, 155% PCR)

with b2a2 BCR-ABL fusion transcript coding for the 210kDa BCR-ABL protein

Sprycel: 20 mg per day - taken at lights out with Quercetin and/or Magnesium Taurate

6-8 grams Curcumin C3 complex.

2015 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

2016 PCR: < 0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

March        2017 PCR:     0.01% (M.D. Anderson scale)

June          2017 PCR:     "undetected"

September 2017 PCR:     "undetected"

Michael, I'm on 70mg right now.  I did reach CCyR on 100mg in three months on Sprycel and lowered to 70mg because of neutropenia and side effects.  I have a biopsy again in March to see what my cytogenic and molecular levels show. I am very hoepful and on another site, found that a lot of people are maintaining a CCyR or PCRu with 70 or even 50mg.  I don't know that they started off at 100mg, but if they're maintaining or making progress with 70mg, I would very much assume that you can reach CCyR and PCRu with 70mg.  We'll see if I can maintain my CCyR and get closer to PCRu in March....I did have a 3 week break due to a surgery and neutropenia/sickness during this time in between PCR checks, but am hoping tha tdidn't interrupt any of my progress!

Thanks MK ... this is good to know.     I learned today that my WBC and ANC were normal (first time in six months).  No doubt this was due to my Gleevec break for six weeks after myelosuppression.  I have been on 70 mg. Sprycel now for about 5 days.  I feel nothing different so far (no side affects and especially no "Gleevec fog").  I had a baseline PCR/FISH done prior to re-start so we'll see how badly 'leukemic' I am.  My only concern now is a return to myelosuppression.  Are the cells I have now leukemic or normal since my Gleevec break.  Only time will tell.

Tedsey is the leader on this.  She shows the way.

OOPS!  Yes, I am on the 70mg. once a day routine.  I have my next onc appointment in late February.  At that time we will know if I might need to adjust my dose but I am really not expecting that to happen (and neither is my Onc).  What happened was my counts went up and I lost PCRU but 6 weeks later they had gone right back down to almost 0 again.  This next checkup will be 3 mo. from that.

(a bit of history- I was dxd on 3/07 in accelerated chronic phase, after 1 week hospital w/heavy duty drugs, transfusion, etc., on to 400 Gleevec.  Initial response good, CHR in less than 2 mos.  Held for a few months then counts creeping back up.  600mg, good response then again the other way.  Finally 800mg (side effects horrible-quality of life gone but stuck it out) good response lasted less than 2 mos. this time then rapid climb.  On to Sprycel 3/09)
