Hi all.  It's been a long time since I've been on this site.  I was diagnosed in Feb 2014.  I was first put on Sprycel, with bad side effects for me.  It was a killer in the beginning (meaning bringing my numbers down quickly), and then it just stopped - numbers didn't move.  Then I was put on Tasigna, side effects not as bad, and totally different.  Again, number dropped significantly when I first started, and for around a year now I just continue to bounce around, up, down, up, never reached MMR.

My dr. has given me 3 options to think about - 1) Stay on the Tasigna.  Physically I usually feel pretty good, a lot more energy than I ever had on Sprycel and again, barely any side effects at this point.  However, the chances are very good that I will just continue with the see-saw action and never see MMR.  2) He would put me on Bosutinid.  Haven't even had a chance to do any research yet, so I basically know nothing about this med.  3) I could join a clinical trial for ABL001.  Just now did minimal research, but looks really good for not only reaching MMR, but eventually being off all meds (which of course sounds wonderful!).

I still have to meet with my doctor to get more information regarding the trial, and always do as much research on my own as I can, but I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts/experiences with either Bosutinid or the ABL001 trial.

No experience with abl001, but I give Bosutinib (bosulif) a big thumbs up. Diarrhea in the beginning and occasionally later on, but I've achieved my deepest response on it and felt the best on it. Just take with that meal the instructions recommend, and stay hydrated to avoid nausea. Good luck!

If the ABL001 trial works logistically, I would do that.

Agree with Trey, ABL001 seems to be the best drug available (for those that qualify for the trial), works different than existing drugs, gets numbers down fast and has little to no side affects.

Thank you everyone.  Scuba - I do not know my Vitamin D level.

I'm still waiting to hear back from my doctor for our discussion and details of the trial.  I will continue post as I get more news.

Thanks again!!

The ABL001 clinical trial is officially closed. There are combination trials, but I am not sure if they are accepting new patients either. I've been on ABL001 for close to 3 years. It should be FDA approved in 2 years.
