I've noticed this is easier on the eyes than Gleevec, they're not as watery and gluey....if that helps anybody.

Tell me more about the watery eyes. While on Tasigna, I got dry eyes and was prescribed Restasis. My eyes would water all the way to work. Then, changed to Gleevec, eyes watered throughout my workday. Now, I'm using Xiidra eye drops and now my eyes are back to mostly watering in the morning.

I think this is what I hate the most about Gleevec.   I definitely see a difference with Teva, is there any chance you can get some.

Frozen tea bags helps with watery eyes.   Pour boiling water over two tea bags, then put in freezer, put on eyes for as long as you can stand it, brightens up your eyes.

I'm on the brand name right now. Are there two generics in the US or just one?

I've been on an NSAID, oxaprozin and cyclobenzaprine prescribed by a rheumatologist for the shoulder aches and pains. I didn't think it was helping that much until I stopped taking it. Awful pain, so I started back taking it. I cant take it forever though.

Keep us posted on your results.

There are three generic imatinibs available in the U.S. manufactured by Sun, Apotex, and Teva.

02/2010 Gleevec 400mg

2011 Two weakly positives, PCRU, weakly positive

2012 PCRU, PCRU, PCRU, PCRU

2013 PCRU, PCRU, PCRU, weakly positive

2014 PCRU, PCRU, PCRU, PCRU (12/07 began dose reduction w/each continuing PCRU)

2015 300, 250, 200, 150

2016 100, 50/100, 100, 10/17 TFR

2017 01/17 TFR, 04/18 TFR, 07/18 TFR 0.0012, 08/29 TFR 0.001, 10/17 TFR 0.000

2018 01/16 TFR 0.0004 ... next quarterly PCR 04/17

At the earliest opportunity, and whenever possible, lower your TKI dosage; TKIs are toxic drugs and the less we take longterm the better off we are going to be ... this is especially true for older adults.

In hindsight I should have started my dosage reduction two years earlier; it might have helped minimize some of the longterm cumulative toxic effects of TKIs that I am beset with.

longterm side-effects Peripheral Artery Disease - legs (it's a bitch); continuing shoulder problems, right elbow inflammation.   GFR and creatinine vastly improved after stopping Gleevec.

Cumulative Gleevec dosage estimated at 830 grams

Taking Gleevec 400mg an hour after my largest meal of the day helped eliminate the nausea that Gleevec is notorious for.

Sounds like they are the Gummi Bears of the TKI world.  Or am I wrong?  I like Gummi Bears.  Maybe I can break them in half and lick the jagged edge?

I've just taken my first ever dose of generic Imatinib, in this case from Pharmadox of Malta.  I'll let you know if my eyes dry up or leak.  When I was first diagnosed 8 years ago the availability of a generic seemed impossibly far in the future so this feels like a real milestone.

I'm struggling with the fact that they are the wrong colour though - how can white tablets possibly be as good for you as the high-fibre brown ones?

The brown is equivalent to iron pill, maybe they solved the iron problem??
